“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.” -A.A. Milne
All I've really got to say at this moment is that I'm happy to have it. To have a moment to pause and reflect shouldn't be just a luxury but with the hustle and bustle of my current life these moments have been so elusive. Wistful and wishful are accurate adjectives to describe my current situation. While I'm totally nostalgic in my yearning for the supposed carefree years of my early twenties, I've been also so incredibly hopeful and inspired and ambitious - there's so much I want to do, thus I've been doing it.
It's like the feeling of wanting to savor each bite but also anticipating the next exciting course. It's like the excitement of daydreaming but also really needing to focus on what's more pressing and time-sensitive. How do we find a happy medium? Still sobering, but with a cherry-on-top? Write it all down. The daydreams, the grand ideas, the lessons. And as you complete one thing at a time, don't forget, to pause and reflect.
There's beauty in sitting still and learning to enjoy the moment. I am naturally an introvert so returning to myself and enjoying the comfort of solitude is definitely something I'll notice if it's missed. I'm also learning how to learn how to say no to things not meant for me, or things no longer serving me, and yes to the things that will bring me closer to my dreams. I'm also continuing to meet so many wonderful people along the way, and also experience the wonderful deepening of friendships that last.
I'll never take for granted how comforting it is to sit down and write something, especially when it's connected to who you are and your own self-aware thoughts and hopes. Taking photos is fun too, of course, especially when working with Sergio Navarro, and wearing beautiful clothing by Effie's Heart. The wicker basket purse I'm toting is from vintage seller: Retro Rhapsody. Shoes are by Kate Spade.
Hope you're all doing well, thank you so much for reading.
